External doors are supported at EUR800 per door, with a maximum of two doors. Applicants can apply for windows, doors or both.
Eligibility checks
- Your home needs a registered MPRN and must be built and occupied before 2011.
- Your attic and walls must have good insulation. SEAI says this can be shown through prior SEAI insulation grants, a BER advisory report showing Good or Very Good attic and wall insulation, or BER assessor advice.
- After the work, the property must meet an HLI value of 2.3 W/K.m2 or lower, or the attic and walls must be noted as Good or Very Good.
- Extensions built after 1 January 2011 are not eligible for window grant support.
- The grant is once-off for windows; you cannot replace windows in stages and claim repeatedly.

- Get quotes from SEAI-registered windows and doors contractors.
- Apply to SEAI for a grant offer or use a One Stop Shop.
- Wait for the grant offer before works start, unless SEAI transitional rules apply to your specific case.
- Complete the works using the registered contractor.
- Get the required post-works BER.
- Submit the declaration and payment documents to SEAI.
- SEAI pays the approved grant into your account after checks; inspection may apply.
